ABOUT ME

Philologist by education, specialized German texts translator by experience and passion. I started my adventure with translations from my philology-oriented studies in 2001. I discovered my interest in technical texts while translating a series of training sessions for an insulated glass production facility. Since then, I have been still improving and expanding my background. I have translated several hundred thousand (or more) pages of texts from various fields. I polished my German skills during my 6-year stay in Germany and 4-year education at the LMU University in Munich. While working for the debt collection department of a German company and for a law firm, I gained vital experience with regard to translating legal texts. I can ensure all my clients top translation quality, full confidentiality, and punctuality. TECHNICAL TRANSLATIONS

I consider technical translations to be the most intriguing and at the same time the most demanding part of my job. The knowledge of specialized terminology and complete precision are vital for making a translation that is characterized by the most satisfactory quality possible. Below, there are examples of technical translations I have realized:  

  • user manuals,
  • certificates,
  • product catalogues,
  • conformity declarations,
  • patents,
  • technical reports,
  • data sheets,
  • installation and maintenance guidebooks.

Fields I have been focusing on are as follows: mechanical engineering, electrics and energetics, transportation and logistics, as well as IT. I am only translating tests to Polish, by using CAT tools for said purpose.

LEGAL AND BUSINESS TRANSLATIONS

Legal translations, similarly to those technical ones, require a specialized knowledge and experience. Legal documents are quite complex texts that quite frequently incorporate field-specific vocabulary that may not be understandable for an average reader. That is why the ability to translate such a material in a proper manner and to utilize the right terminology is of exceptional importance.  

My portfolio incorporates translations of, among others: contracts, attestations, notarial deed, court rulings, letters of authority, commercial register extracts, and various acts.  

Business translations I make cover a wide scope of texts, from requests for quotation, through company-specific correspondence, up to financial reports. I am also experienced with regard to making marketing-oriented translations, such as catalogues, brochures, and websites.  

SOFTWARE

I am open to new technologies and that is why I utilize the following CAT tools to make my work remarkably more efficient: SDL Trados Studio 2022, MemoQ 9.12 and Across Premium v7. Said pieces of software make it possible for me to ensure terminology-specific consistency and allow to increase the overall quality of translations. Additionally, I utilize quality control programs to verify my translations. Those are xBench 3.0 and Verifika 3.2.
